How do Vohwinklers perceive the Vohwinkler Zentrum today? What do they like? What should change? From March 11 to April 2, 2024 , all Vohwinkel residents and interested Wuppertal residents were able to contribute their ideas and suggestions to the "Vohwinkel Integrated Urban Development Concept(ISEK)" on this page. The ideas collected were further processed at the district workshop on May 4, 2024.

The Vohwinkel IUDC was adopted by the city council in December 2024. You can view the elaborated concept and the draft resolution for the political committees here .
The major event of the Federal Horticultural Show(BUGA) will provide a major development opportunity for the Vohwinkel district in the coming years. The center is to be prepared to form an important component of the Federal Garden Show. By participating in the ISEK Vohwinkel 2024, citizens were able to influence how the district should be designed. The focus was on ensuring that Vohwinkel offers a popular and lively center for the BUGA, but above all before and after.

You were able to take part in the online participation from March 11 to April 2, 2024. As part of the online participation, you contributed various strengths, weaknesses and ideas. The results were then viewed, sorted and clustered by the specialist administration. This selection was prepared for the district workshop in Vohwinkel and presented for discussion as a basis for further developments and additions.
The second part of the participation was the district workshop for Vohwinkel, which took place on 4 May 2024 with around 80 participants in the community center on Gräfrather Straße. The aim of the event was to provide Vohwinkel residents with a broad range of information about the ISEK and the process to date. In addition, the further development and prioritization of previous ideas was intended to initiate broad citizen participation in Vohwinkel in order to drive the district development forward.
Constructive discussions took place at several topic tables, which focused on the further development of the ideas, potential stumbling blocks and possible solutions in the further process. After the small group work phase, all the results were put up on display boards and could be viewed by all participants during a tour. The ideas were prioritized by the participants on site and incorporated into the development of the projects.
The ideas submitted were checked for feasibility. Based on the results of the online participation and the on-site participation, the ISEK (Integrated Urban Development Concept) was created by late summer 2024. This represents the binding basis for the development of Vohwinkel. The results of the process and the city council's decision can be found at the bottom of this page.
