Civic engagement and volunteering have a long tradition in Wuppertal. The civic engagement team supports people who are involved or would like to become involved in Wuppertal in a variety of ways.

Volunteer scholarship

Here you will find all the latest information on the volunteer scholarship. From 2026, the city of Wuppertal will be supporting young people who are involved in voluntary work. The aim is to reduce financial burdens and make volunteering more visible in all its diversity.

Heimat Prize

Over the next few weeks, you will find all the information about the Wuppertal Heimat Award here. The Wuppertal Homeland Prize is awarded for outstanding voluntary work and commitment to the common good. Special civic commitment to shaping the local area is thus brought to the public's attention.
