We, the City of Wuppertal (as the operator of the website and controller within the meaning of Art. 24 GDPR) and wer|denkt|was GmbH (as the maintainer of the website and contractor within the meaning of Art. 28 GDPR), attach great importance to the protection of your personal data and the protection of your privacy.

In principle, you can use this website for information purposes without leaving any personal data. We use the open source software Matomo (formerly Piwik) for the statistical analysis of visitor access. Here, data is only collected in anonymized form.

Personal data is only collected if you provide this information voluntarily when using the site (e.g. to submit an idea) or if you wish to register permanently as a user on the site.

Any personal data that we receive from you will be stored and processed in accordance with our privacy policy and the GDPR.

If you wish to use the valley participation calendar, you have the opportunity to obtain information and to register for individual events. The following personal data is collected for this purpose:

  • Name
  • e-mail address
  • Number of accompanying persons
  • Any comments (optional)

If necessary for the further processing of your registration, this data may also be forwarded to municipal companies or municipal holdings for a specific purpose. In addition, your registration can also be forwarded to other institutions that provide services in public or semi-public areas on behalf of the city for processing (e.g. the VHS).

2.4 Contact form

You have the opportunity to give us feedback on the accessibility of this website via a web form. The contact form is used exclusively to improve the quality of accessibility. The data you provide will only be used to process your feedback and - if necessary - to make further contact.

The following personal data is collected when you contact us via the contact form:

  • Name
  • e-mail address

The legal basis for this processing is Art. 6 para. 1 a) GDPR. Depending on the content of your feedback, the data collected in this context will also be forwarded to other internal departments and processed there.

The personal data processed for the purpose of the feedback will be deleted unless the controller has a legitimate interest in further storage. In any case, only the data that is absolutely necessary to achieve the relevant purpose will continue to be stored.

3 Use and disclosure of personal data

The personal data collected will only be passed on to the city administration to process your application. If necessary for further processing, this data may also be forwarded to municipal companies or municipal holdings for a specific purpose. In addition, concerns or descriptions of ideas can also be forwarded to other institutions that provide services in public or semi-public areas on behalf of the respective municipality for processing.

If you register on the platform, you can indicate during the registration process whether you would like to be informed about new functions and changes. In this case, you will also be informed by e-mail about news in the portal and about participation procedures. If you provide us with further personal data, we will only use it to answer and process inquiries and for technical administration. Beyond this, personal data will not be passed on to third parties. Unless we are obliged to do so as a result of mandatory legal regulations.

4. usage data

In principle, you can visit "talbeteiligung.de" without having to provide any personal details. Irrespective of this, the provider of this site automatically registers access to the website and stores it in so-called server log files.

When you visit the site, the web server saves the following data to maintain system security

  • Browser type and version
  • Operating system used
  • URL of origin (referrer URL)
  • Host name of the accessing computer
  • Time of the server request
  • IP address
  • Content that was accessed

This data remains anonymous for the City of Wuppertal and wer|denkt|was GmbH. It is therefore not possible to identify a person. This data is not merged with other data sources. However, we reserve the right to have this data subsequently checked by TeleData GmbH if concrete indications of unlawful use become known or if we, as the operator of the site, are requested to do so by law enforcement authorities.

If your user name corresponds to your real name, this will also be passed on accordingly. If you enter personal data of third parties or yourself as part of your user input on this platform (e.g. real names, e-mail addresses or addresses), our moderation can anonymize or delete them.

The stored data may be evaluated in pseudonymized form in accordance with Art. 4 para. 5 GDPR, i.e. without personal reference, for statistical or scientific purposes in accordance with Art. 89 GDPR by wer|denkt|was GmbH or research partners (e.g. universities, institutes and research colleges) in the public interest and to improve the procedures. Our technical and organizational measures ensure that the principle of data minimization is respected.

Your data protection rights are regulated in Chapter 3 (Art. 12 ff.) of the European General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). According to these provisions, you have a right to information about the personal data stored about you, about the purposes of processing, about any transfers to other bodies and about the duration of storage.

9. data erasure / right to erasure (pursuant to Art. 17 para. 1)

12 Matomo analysis

This website uses the web analysis service Matomo (formerly Piwik). Matomo uses cookies that enable the use of the website to be analyzed.
