Citizen Participation Advisory Board: Meeting on October 14, 2026

Last Wednesday, the 5th meeting of the Advisory Board on Citizen Participation took place during the current council term. The meeting focused on the topic of civic engagement. To this end, the staff office team presented the City of Wuppertal’s key initiatives for promoting civic engagement, as well as the volunteer agency Zentrum für gute Taten e. V. A central part of the meeting was getting to know the current recipients of the volunteer scholarship. Through five discussion rounds, the advisory board members got to know the volunteers and their volunteer roles, gaining a comprehensive insight into the diverse activities of volunteers in Wuppertal. Following the discussion sessions, many advisory board members expressed their gratitude and respect for the young volunteers and emphasized the role they play as role models in society. During the remainder of the meeting, the staff office team presented current developments in other projects, such as the participatory budget, the youth budget, and the BUGA.
