Everything at a glance and in one place: the app bundles digital municipal services (e.g. booking appointments, applying for an ID card). It helps you to access this and other important information quickly, easily and on the move.

Citizens will be able to download the Wuppertal app from the app stores at the end of the year. We want to continuously develop the app so that it meets your needs and those of other Wuppertal residents. To do this, we need your help.

As part of the participation process, two workshops have already taken place and the development team has received helpful feedback. You can find the results at the bottom of the page. Further opportunities for participation are planned and will be published here.

Information on the procedure

With the new city app, Wuppertal is becoming more digital, simpler and closer to its citizens. Whether appointments with the administration, current news or events - all of this is bundled by the app and brought directly to your smartphone. For example, the app can be used to make appointments and apply for an ID card. The app saves time and effort and brings a lot of important information and services directly into your pocket. This makes everyday life smarter and the connection to the city closer and more convenient than ever before.

The city app has been under continuous development since 2024 and will be published in fall 2025.

Further information can be found in a report by the administration, which was accepted by Wuppertal City Council on 14.03.2024.

We want to show you a first version of the city app and want to know from you whether you like the app, whether the content is suitable, whether something is missing and what we can do better: Do you like the offer or are you missing content? Can you find the information you are looking for? With your feedback and experience, we can optimize the app according to your wishes and needs.

As part of two workshops (08.07 & 13.11.2025), you had the opportunity to test a first version of the app before it was released. We were able to gather many exciting impressions and experiences regarding the range of functions and user-friendliness of the app. The results will be incorporated into the development process of the city app in order to improve the app and design it to meet the needs of the urban community.

As the development of the app progresses, further participation formats are likely to take place in the future. We will announce these via this page and our other information channels.

We have prepared the results of the first workshop and summarized them in a short report at the end of this page. The results of the second workshop will also be prepared and made available afterwards via this website. The Innovation Lab team, which is responsible for implementing the app, is looking forward to your feedback and will take it into account in its decisions.
