Public Participation Process for the Wassack Sports Park Begins!
What should the future sports park on the “Wassack” brownfield site look like? This question is at the heart of a current public participation project.
As part of the 2031 Federal Horticultural Show (BUGA31), a new sports park is to be built on the former landfill site in Vohwinkel. An initial design by the firm “relais Landschaftsarchitekten,” submitted as part of the open-space planning competition, is already available. It includes, among other things, a roller sports facility, calisthenics and fitness areas, ball sports fields, bouldering and exercise facilities, as well as areas for relaxation and small events.
Now we would like to discuss the design with future users and find out what they already like and where they would like to see changes.
Public participation will take place via an online survey, on-site discussions, and a workshop. In each case, interested individuals will have the opportunity to familiarize themselves with the design and share their feedback and suggestions. The results will be incorporated into the further planning of the sports park.
