Suspension railway forecourt: What do you think of the student proposals?
The forecourt of the Alter Markt suspension railway station is to be redesigned in 2027. With the Pop-Up Park, the city tried out various measures from July 2024 to February 2026. We created seating, built raised beds, removed paving slabs and replanted the green strips along the streets. Between fall 2024 and summer 2025, we wanted to know how you liked the pop-up park. We have evaluated the results of your participation so far. You can find the report at the end of our project page.
As part of a final project, students from the Wuppertal "Public Interest Design" course have now developed proposals for various elements and areas of the square. After your feedback has been checked for feasibility, it will be incorporated into further plans for the final design of the square.
