"Together (In)dependent?" Register now for the 15th OKNRW Barcamp

Dear Friends of OKNRW,

We cordially invite you to the 15th OKNRW Barcamp!

What technologies do people rely on to make decisions and get involved in our city? Who owns the data collected by a municipality, and how can it be used for the common good? How can civil society organize itself in practical ways without neglecting its values? And how does democracy work in everyday life—at city hall, in community organizations, and in the neighborhood?

As always, you’ll be the ones bringing the topics to the Barcamp. Open data, free software, civic engagement, digital government, smart cities, or socio-political issues: anything that interests you in this field is welcome.

• When: November 21, 2026, 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.,
• Where: VHS Wuppertal, Auer Schulstraße 20, 42103 Wuppertal
• For whom: Local and state government officials • Civic & Gov Tech • Civil society • Developers • Those interested in democracy • Those curious about digital topics • Anyone interested in exchanging ideas

We at Talbeteiligung, together with our partners Offene Kommunen.NRW e.V., Mehr Demokratie e.V., and Bergische VHS, look forward to meeting you, discussing ideas, and learning about what you’re currently working on!
