Culture in Wuppertal: Workshop for Teens and Young Adults

How can cultural institutions in Wuppertal become spaces of hospitality? And what does it mean to be a guest or a host?

The project “Dare to Trust / Hosts of the Future – or The Art of Hospitality.” The project is being implemented by a consortium of actors and representatives from the independent arts scene, municipal cultural institutions, and the city administration. Partners from the local cultural landscape are providing strategic support for the project.

When addressing the project’s questions, it is essential to take the perspectives of young people into account. That’s why a workshop for 14- to 27-year-olds will take place on October 10 from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Tanzstation Barmen, where we’d like to discuss the following, among other things:

• What does culture mean to you?
• What role does culture play in your everyday life?
• What do you consider to be cultural spaces?
• If you could design a cultural space, what would it look like?
