"Volunteering in Dialogue" Symposium on December 5: Diversity and Participation in Volunteer Work

How diverse is volunteer work in Wuppertal—and what is needed to enable people with different experiences and perspectives to get involved?

To mark International Volunteer Day, the City of Wuppertal is hosting a symposium titled “Volunteering in Dialogue” on December 5, 2026. The event will focus on diversity, participation, and the question of how to make volunteer work accessible and appealing to as many people as possible.

Academic perspectives and real-world experiences from the field of volunteering will come together and engage in dialogue. The symposium provides a space for knowledge transfer, new ideas, and the exchange of diverse experiences and viewpoints. At the same time, it offers the opportunity to make connections and network with other volunteers, organizations, and initiatives.

Volunteers, organizations, and initiatives are invited, as well as anyone interested in the future of volunteer work in Wuppertal and who would like to help shape it.
