Barmen Youth Budget: Consolidation of Ideas and Final Review

A total of 77 ideas were submitted as part of the Youth Budget. We received great project proposals in the areas of sports & exercise, seating areas, leisure & culture, and many other topics. You can find an overview and specific examples in the attached chart.

Many proposals can be implemented and will go directly onto the ballot for voting. Some ideas are very similar. For these, you decided at the Ideas Workshop that they should be combined. For example, you requested a place to study in Barmen three times, and we received four requests for a drinking water dispenser. Some of the services you’ve requested are already available in Barmen. Here, your ideas show us that we need to communicate these services to you even more effectively. These are great suggestions, too!

We’re currently working on combining the suggestions according to your wishes, gathering feedback from those who submitted the ideas if we have any further questions, and exploring concrete implementation options with the relevant departments.

We’ll then create a shortlist that all young people in Barmen between the ages of 14 and 21 can vote on from September 21 through October 18, thereby deciding which ideas will become a reality next year. As soon as the voting list is finalized, we’ll let you know here and explain again exactly how the final vote will work.
