Referendum on the Olympics on April 19, 2026

At its meeting on December 15, 2025, the Wuppertal City Council decided to vote on the question: "Are you in favor of the city of Wuppertal participating in the joint bid of the Rhine/Ruhr region for the Olympic and Paralympic Games in 2036, 2040 or 2044?".

Anyone who is eligible to vote on April 19, 2026

• is a German or EU citizen,
• has reached the age of 16,
• have been registered with their sole or main residence in Wuppertal since at least the 16th day before the vote,
• is not excluded from the right to vote.
