Urban land-use planning procedure as part of the Federal Garden Show 2031

The Tesche core area forms the largest area of the BUGA in the western district of Vohwinkel. The areas of the Alte Gärtnerei / Tescher Wiesen and the Wassack landfill form an integral part of this core area.

On the Tescher Wiesen, exhibition areas for gardens and plants typical of a Federal Garden Show are to be realized, which will be developed into a publicly accessible local recreation area in the long term. An urban sports park is to be developed on the Wassack landfill site, which will expand the existing facilities with various sports and play elements. In addition, a multifunctional area is planned that can be used as a venue for smaller events in the long term.

The following urban land-use planning procedures are required for both areas:

Tesche

Development plan 1292 - BUGA 1 / Tesche - with the 161st amendment to the land use plan

Wassack landfill

Development plan 1299 - BUGA 4 / Wassack landfill -

The Vohwinkel district council, together with the Building and Housing Department, invites all interested citizens to an information event. This represents the formal participation of the public in accordance with Section 3 (1) of the German Building Code.

The event will take place on Monday, 23.03.2026 at 6:00 pm
in the community hall of the Protestant parish of Vohwinkel
Gräfrather Str. 15, 42329 Wuppertal, Germany.

The event will be accompanied by sign language interpreters.

The current planning status will be presented at the event. You will have the opportunity to find out more about the planning and to contribute your suggestions and concerns to the planning process. You can also submit comments on this process in writing or by email to the Building and Housing Department, Department 105.1 - Urban Land Use Planning, Johannes-Rau-Platz 1, 42275 Wuppertal.
